Dr James S Shawcross (Consultant Renal & Acute Medicine)

Dr J Shawcross is currently working as a Consultant in Renal and Acute Medicine since 2013 at the Carlisle Infirmary, North Cumbria. He graduated from Newcastle University and did his training in renal medicine in the Northern Deanery. His professional interests include AKI and tubular disorders.

Dr J Shawcross has extensive experience in teaching. Leading the acute medicine in Carlisle Dr J Shawcross helps with teaching junior doctors from bed-site teachings to formal organised teachings within the trust. His efforts to the education department at Carlisle infirmary are always appreciated. Trainees around the Trust has always praised his skills and teaching tactics. His extracurricular personal interests include cycling, walking in the North Lakes, sport cars (especially Porsche), guitar and mandolin.
