Dr Srikanth Mada is the Clinical Director for Medicine and Consultant Endocrinologist, at County Durham and Darlington Foundation NHS Trust (CDDFT). His clinical expertise is in transitional medicine, young adult diabetes, diabetes & technology, renal diabetes and diabetic foot disease.
He is currently the trainee programme director for diabetes and endocrinology training across the NorthEast England. He also holds the Lead Foundation Programme Tutor role for the trust and served as Royal College Tutor for Medicine for 8 years. He teaches trainees who are sitting their PACES exams on a regular basis and due to become PACES examiner in 2021.
Dr Mada leads the team which developed safe handover tools to improve patient’s care in his trust, based on Human Factors in Health principles. He is an accredited trainer and hold two medical education degrees: Postgraduate degree in Medical Education from Dundee University and Postgraduate degree in Human Factors(HF) in Healthcare from Teesside University.
His areas of expertise are: Theories of Adult Learning, Principles of Teamwork in Healthcare, Leadership in Healthcare and Measures to enhance Patients and Healthcare clinicians safety using Human Factors Frameworks. His passion is to raise awareness about Human Factors principles to enhance patient safety.
Dr Mada is also the Director & Co-Founder of Glocal Academy.
